About NIA's PLACE
A SAFE home to welcome formerly incarcerated women back into the community. Our housing will PROVIDE multi-dimensional holistic services; gender specific programming, personal agency, community based, power building and social transformation. The desired outcome is to achieve systemic change and structural barriers to reentry.

LENGTH OF STAY

3 Month Minimum - 12 month maximum (with possible 18 month maximum extension on a case-by-case basis)

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Women who are justice involved
-
Must have been released from a correctional facility within the last 3 years (you may be identified and referred to the pilot prior to release). These facilities include jails, prisons, and juvenile correctional facilities.

Must be at least 18 years of age

Mental capacity to engage with services and understand.Must be willing to undergo a mental health assessment

Have engaged in or willing to seek treatment or medication when required

Must maintain in mental health and wellbeing
-
Not currently engaged in illegal drug use or alcohol abuse that could threaten other residents’ or employees’ health and safety
-
Evidence of participating in substance abuse support or rehabilitation program

Willingness to participate in personal transformation activities and motivated to make a positive change in their life

Willing to participate in intensive case management services for 6-12 months. Services will also be available to family members if they choose to participate
